Chicago is known for not only its love of sports and good food but also its many number of quality IT companies. In fact, Chicago might just be one of the easiest cities in the country to find quality computer and internet services. In downtown Chicago alone, you’ll find a huge selection of IT companies to choose from. Many of these companies also deal and work in other areas of computer services as well.

In the suburbs of Chicago, you’ll also find quite the selection of IT companies believe it or not. Many of these companies are scattered throughout and each have their own area they cover.

I remember when I was younger I was looking for a great IT company to handle by businesses’ computers. Thankfully, after a little searching I was able to find one in Chicago. It was a good thing to considering I lived in upper Illinois at the time!

These days, you can find a great IT company almost anywhere, but for those living in or near the Windy City, they should be very proud of the ones they have.

If you’re looking for the best wireless internet provider Chicago has to offer than look no further than Clear 4G. Imagine mobile broadband speeds on par with your home broadband internet setup and coverage so vast an entire city can be transformed into one giant hotspot. It’s true and it’s all part of the 4G experience.

With 4G, all the pain and aggravation of other wireless services is a thing of the past. You don’t have to deal with dodgy 3G coverage or elusive wi-fi hotspots that are hardly worth the effort. That’s because with Clear 4G service you just plug the USB modem into your laptop and away you go throughout Chicago; enjoying the coverage.

You can download entire music albums while you commute through Chicago’s Pilsen district and even hold a teleconference with clients while you ride in the back of a cab. The possibilities are almost endless and, most importantly, liberating. No longer will you feel like your internet is tying you down when you can move about Chicago freely with 4G service.

When you are in the Chicago area, you should consider trying out a couple of wonderful restaurants. With all of the restaurants and food choices that Chicago has to offer it is difficult to pick just a couple of them. But if you are looking for a great fine dining experience, you should give these a try.

If you are looking for diner with a view, then you should give Park Grill a try. You can enjoy a fabulous meal, in a comfortable atmosphere while enjoying the view of Millennium Park. If you would prefer to eat outdoors, you can do that also at the Plaza at Park Grill. The menu is made up of classic American cuisine with that Chicago flavor.

Another fabulous fine dining restaurant to try is Sixteen. You will have an excellent view of the city with their 30-foot floor-to-ceiling windows where you are able to take a look at Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, and the Wrigley Clock Tower. You can enjoy an exquisite meal morning, noon, or night.

If you are in the River North neighborhood, then you should give Zealous a try. It has fine American cuisine that will have your taste buds begging for me. This restaurant has a relaxed and tranquil feel to it. So if you are looking for a place to grab a bite to eat and also relax, this is the one for you.

You may be hungry for French cuisine. If so, that you should give Everest a try. This restaurant is located on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange. It has an elegant atmosphere and overlooks the western side of the city.

There are many different fine dining restaurants within the Chicago area, but keep these in mind when you are trying to decide where to eat.

Whether you’re working freelance or just browsing sites on the weekend, internet cafes are a great way to enjoy a blend of solitude and companywhile enjoying some great food along the way. They offer free wi-fi and complimentary hors d’oeuvres on a surprise basis. The mornings and afternoons are great for working or reading and enjoying the works of local artists. On live music nights, though, you’ll be hard-pressed to stay sitting down.La Bella Caf & Internet: La Bella’s is located on North Clark Street. Customers can enjoy free wi-fi or affordable internet access (4.00 for an hour). A variety of soups, sandwiches, coffees and teas will satisfy your physical appetite while the internet satisfies your mental one. Plus, every 10th coffee and hour of internet is free.Winston’s Internet Caf: Winston’s is a 24-hour/7-days-a-week coffee bar with free internet and hospitable baristas.

For the last decade, researchers have been trying to come up with a way to give consumers internet access away from the computer. Whether you’re riding the El or stuck waiting for a meeting, any Chicagoan can appreciate the convenience and profitability of such a device. Early attempts included the Audrey, a countertop device with an 8-inch screen and a Geode processor, as well as the I-opener, a device which combined a terminal, keyboard, mouse, and 10-inch LCD display. However, none of these products were efficient enough to warrant their price tags.Today, high-end devices like the iPad and Kindle offer consumers that portable access that these initial products aimed toward. Video game consoles use Internet access for watching movies or playing against people on a network. Even some television makers are experimenting with connectivity. Meanwhile, more companies are trying to get in by offering more specialized products for less. One of these companies, Chumby, is selling products for around 100 which can create personal online channels for topics like news and weather. The developers recommend the product for a variety of uses, including keeping it by the bed as an alarm clock or as a desktop device for checking Facebook or craigslist. Chumby also has a growing user-created app service, with familiar ones like Letterman’s Top Ten and a Facebook status checker, as well as a Zoltar fortune teller. The DreamScreen from HP is another new product, which resembles a digital photo frame but can also function as an internet radio. These products don’t really seem to be competing with the bigger companies yetwhen’s the last time you saw a Chumby commercial?but as long as the desire for portable access at affordable prices remains, we’re sure to see other developers going along the same route.

Your friends call you an idealist, but you know what you’re looking for: someone to show you the sights, who’ll spend time with your family, and maybe even show you what’s for dinner. Yes, the world of internet service providers can be a crowded but lonely place. Thankfully, there’s this handy list of options for those living in Chicago, from big names to some you may not have heard of before.

Verizon offers high-speed internet access via DSL and Cable with plenty of advantages. Winner of a 2009 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Award, Verizon offers some of the fastest speeds in the business, with their Starter plan at 1 Mbps and their Turbo plan at 7.1 Mbps. They also offer a large, reliable network of more than 100 million people.

RCN Chicago is another option for Chicago customers. Their wireless options offer up to four simultaneous Internet connections with plenty of customization, including parental controls and Mac compatibility. Their network is fiber-optic as opposed to cable or DSL, and basic 1.5 Mbps connection is 29.99 a month.

DSL 4 Chicago is a firm which partners with other providers like AT&T Broadband, Earthlink, and Qwest to match specific customers with the right connection. This is a great option for first-time customers unsure of what their internet needs require. There’s one simple form to fill out, and the contractors do the rest.

HughesNet offers satellite internet anywhere in the continental U.S. at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up. They service resident, business, and government networks. One warningsatellite internet is subject to high latency between data request and response, so if you’re interested in online gaming or videoconferencing, make sure to do your research before choosing this option.

When you’re living in the third most populous city in the US, you’ll want to have the power of the internet at your fingers. It’s the quickest way to get tickets at O’Hare or find direction to the Symphony Center. If you’re running a business, your concerns are even more critical. That’s why it’s so important to find the provider that’s right for you. It might not be who you think. In addition to the more well-known residential providers, there are several other firms competing for your service. One of these is Cogent Communications, which offers fiber-optic internet access to both business and access providers. Residential consumers may not know have heard of Cogent, but it has been servicing commercial consumers since 2000. They are now one of the largest data carriers in the world, and they would love to give your growing business the boost it needs.Cogent’s network is continuously in the top 5 world networks. By building their own independent IP network, they are able to provide several advantages, including lower prices, data redundancy, and a ring-architecture design which minimizes outages. The company rigorously chooses the buildings which will be integrated into its network. Typically, they are located in central business districts and have at least half a million square feet of rental space, providing plenty of space for the network to be installed.Currently, more than 1,475 buildings are connected to this “On Net” fiber-optic network. If for some reason you’re wary about Cogent’s services, or you’re just looking for another option, Cogent also offers Off Net internet access. In this case, the building is still connected to the core network, but via tail circuit. This option is available across North America and Europe in over 145 markets.

Companies looking to expand their online presence have several choices in the Chicago area. Advanced Network Hosts is one great option for businesses in Chicago looking to create or expand their networks. They have a proven track record since their inception in 2001, having turned a profit in each year. Their attention to their servers verges on the obsessive, so that you know you’re in good hands. For example, each of their servers has multiple backup drives that automatically mirror server’s data.Unlike most network hosts, Advanced Network Hosts uses pure copper CPUs from Intel, which aids them in staying cooler than others. All of their RAM, power supply, and motherboard technology has been researched and tested to come out on top as well. With all of this, Advanced Network Hosts offers very competitive prices, with 50 GB disk space/500 GB bandwidth for 106 per year and 75 GB disk space/750 GB bandwidth for 176 a year. The more expensive package, known as the Mega Plus Plan, offers up to 100 domains and an unlimited amount of databases.AmeriWeb Hosting not only offers web hosting, but also web design for businesses in the Chicago area. This includes copywriting and unlimited pages, with options for monthly maintenance and web marketing as well. This is a great option for businesses just looking to get off the ground, and in need of a stylish face to show the internet marketplace. If you don’t want to make a yearly commitment, AmeriWeb Hosting also offers the benefit of having a monthly option. The annual rate is the better economic decision, though, with savings of about 17. Even better are the various package deals, from the 9.95 “Do It Yourself” Web Sites to the 1995 Premium Sites, offering 1 GB of hosting space and free hosting, copywriting, marketing, and script management.
